About the role
As a Software Engineer, you will be part of an Investment Engineering team, focusing on the development of data pipelines, ETL processes, and Python-based tools to improve scalability and efficiency. You will work closely with business teams to understand their needs and translate them into robust software solutions.
This role offers an opportunity to expand your expertise in financial markets, risk management, and pension funds, allowing you to contribute meaningfully to the firm’s investment strategies. You will have a say in shaping the tech stack and best practices, ensuring that the team remains at the forefront of technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize data pipelines, APIs, and web applications using best practices in software engineering.
- Work closely with business teams to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions within an established technical framework.
- Collaborate with DataOps, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure projects align with strategic technology goals.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies in data and software engineering and contribute fresh ideas to the team.
- Participate in on-call production support on a rotational basis (approximately one day every two weeks during office hours) to monitor applications, APIs, and batch processes.
Skills & Experience Required:
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on Web APIs and Web Applications.
- Proficiency in Python and experience in automated testing (unit, integration, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL).
- Bonus skills: FastAPI, GraphQL, RabbitMQ, JavaScript/TypeScript & React, Big Data Technologies (Airflow, Hive, NiFi).
